Christa Niederer, a photographer, observed the ravenous reptile playing While she Was there. The impala carcass Was purportedly left in the area betWeen the canines and the scaly predator While they engaged the predator in a brief standoff. HoWever, the crocodile snatched it up before the dogs could retrieve their catch.
Ms. Niederer recalled hoW the confrontation started: A huge, fat crocodile Was peacefully observing the activity on the sandbank While submerged, With only its eyes protruding from the Water. It moved more sloWly as the dogs pushed the corpse until suddenly lunging onto the sandbank.
